You really can't make this up
7 years ago - sold everything we had and moved our young family to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania with hopes of sharing the gospel through helping children who have nothing
6 years ago - welcomed the first orphan girls into their forever home with Hilbert and Neema
3 years ago - moved back to the US because the orphan home was stable and thriving and we wanted to be close to family and live in the states, got incredible jobs at The Bear Creek School where our kids attend for free
2 weeks from today - the five of us along with four Bear Creek high school girls will hop aboard our beloved Emirates airplane and make the trip to Dar. I am especially jazzed to have the honor of taking these special girls with us - what a gift!!

We could not have made this up, humans set their paths and think they're good but a path submitted to The Lord really is incredible - God knows what He is doing and it is exciting! What a privilege to be able to head back to Dar to see friends, check in with the government, deepen connections all the while bringing students who have known nothing but their lives in Redmond, WA. Really looking forward to an incredible experience!

If you're willing, we would love prayer for the following:
*Unbothered travel - we have done a ton of research about traveling with minors across the world during covid and think we have all of our ducks in a row. Please pray that comes to pass!
*Health - we know a lot could happen with health while traveling, please pray for complete health among our group.
*Perspectives shifted - experiencing a third world country does something to the heart, please pray God would use this time to change the perspective of all of us in order to have deeper compassion and love that would bring about action to help and to serve the nations.
*Deepened connections and unity with Hilbert, Neema, and the kids - we are making some changes in how we move forward with the orphan home (mentioned in earlier update and also more on that to come!) - we hope to be able to communicate and listen clearly and effectively through the culture and language differences.

With love and gratitude,
Dan, Lindy, the Fam along with Grace, Miya, Rosalind, and Morgan (the Bear Creek Students)
