"What are you thankful for?" - asked my dad every year around the Thanksgiving table...
We always knew this question was coming as we sat down to eat Thanksgiving dinner. It always caused us to pause and think before we had our turn to speak. The responses varied - some would say something about family, often there was a reply about good health, and there was always talk about the good food we had in front of us. Regardless of if we enjoyed that tradition or were slightly annoyed, I think we can all agree having a thankful heart changes us.
Now that I am a parent, I find myself telling my kids (and my husband :)) to have a thankful heart. I find myself saying this when they are whining or complaining or aren't pleased with their circumstance. There is always something to be thankful for and we want our family to be the type who chooses that way of thinking.
Each month, Dan has a phone call with Hilbert. The cool thing is, Hilbert has a thankful heart. He lives a completely different life than we do, and always has, but a thankful heart is universal. People around the world have the opportunity to choose thankfulness!
A few needs maybe you'd like to contribute towards:
* Couch set - Hilbert and Neema brought these couches with them four years ago - new costs $700
* Christmas outfits for the kids - a Tanzanian tradition where kids get a new outfit for Christmas - each cost $25
* Monthly giving towards their living expenses

Also on the website, you'll find out more information about a partnership we have with our dear friend, Doug Buckley, and his coffee business from Tanzania. He has trained locals to grow coffee beans in TZ, he roasts them in Ohio. Each purchase you make sends some proceeds to our orphan ministry. Everyone who has tried the coffee agrees it is the best!
With a thankful heart, Dan and Lindy and the fam from Moyo Wakila Mama
